“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands” Psalm 63: 3-4. We choose what we want to do with our lives, but God gives life purpose and it’s up to us to find and fulfill that plan. God gives each person a calling that is unique to the individual. We can be called to marriage, to be a priest, a nun, a teacher, a doctor, or pretty much anything that comes to mind. Whether someone is called to the medical field or to be a priest, there is one thing for sure, and that is that we are all called to love, know, trust, and speak on behalf of God in everything we say and do. Life pushes us to determine our purpose, to get others to heaven, and to allow Christ to be our main focus.
In the same mind, going about life and doing everything with intent for God makes life worthwhile. Giving glory to God in school, work, prayers, and other activities makes us want to put in more time and effort just for Him. Mistakes alone are a fundamental part of life. We have to make mistakes in order to succeed, we have to fail in order to win, and we have to see darkness in order to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We as the people of God were made from love, to give love, and to be loved. We are called to get others to heaven, placing their needs and opportunities before those of our own. We place our happiness in the people we love and trust, and we should allow God to place His trust in us so that we can get the job done for which he has placed us on this Earth.
Overall, the meaning of life is to live for Christ. He placed us on this Earth with purpose and value. We are to enjoy and have fun throughout life, but we should always come back to God for guidance and reassurance that ourduty may be fulfilled. Life is given by God for people to be happy, to grow, to explore, and to learn from personal mistakes to better themselves for a bright future and to find our way back to Him. We only live the life we have once. And as Oscar Wilde once said, “ One day, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.”
